Something for everyone

The Sika Show is New Zealand’s and is in fact Australasia’s largest outdoor and hunting trade expo and this year is celebrating its remarkable 30-year milestone of the event since its humble beginnings at the Spa Hotel in Taupo in 1993!

The show has since moved to Mystery Creek Event Centre in Hamilton to accomodate the significant increase in attendance with visitation from all over NZ and more and more interest from oversea attendee and exhibitors.

What started off as a small gathering of local hunters holding a competition for the best Sika heads taken each year has now grown into a diverse event with more than 165 exhibitors and around 10,000 attendees last year with this years event set to be bigger and better again and with a $24,500 door prize “The Ultimate Hunting Package” up for grabs, along with a chance to win a $1500 SPIKA voucher for online ticket purchases, thousands of dollars worth of spot prizes and over $30,000 worth of prizes in the annual hunting competition.

The Sika Show is one event this year that you cannot afford to miss!

The Sika Show is not only a massive trade show with a plethora of outdoor products and experiences on display from the annual hunting competition to impressive taxidermy displays, all the latest hunting gear and equipment, a vast array of 4×4 and offroad products, butchery and game food cooking demos, spice rubs, sauces, cookers, smokers, and biltong makers, hunting and backcountry-style artwork, adventure tourism operators and guided hunt/dive trip outfitters, backcountry-styled jewellery, boutique-style liquor vendors, boats, portable cabins, conservation and education stands, a diverse food truck collective and lots of fun and competitions for the kids and families but it is also a platform to achieve significant fundraising for many organisations involved in the NZ hunting community to assist them to continue to achieve the amazing work they do with initiatives this year donating to The Central North Island Sika Foundation, NZ Tahr Foundation, Rural Support Trust and the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter in Taupo.

The show also and most importantly serves as a focal point for various NZ conservation, game animal foundations and organisations, promoting wildlife preservation, education around ethical hunting and game animal management practices and getting the hunting community involved in volunteer projects to help manage our incredible game animals and the environments they live in that we all treasure so much.

With all stakeholders working together to achieve a greater balance and a targeted approach to game animal and pest management it serves to help preserve our beautiful wilderness areas in NZ and protect the delicate balance in these diverse environments so we can all enjoy them well into the future and so our children’s children can do so as well.

The Sika Show takes place on 28 and 29 October 2023 at Mystery Creek Events Centre and all information from the complete exhibitor list, door prize information, head competition entry form and rules, ticket information and purchase etc can be found at sikashow.co.nz.
