Something for everyone

The Fishing Paper & Hunting News has a wide interest audience spread across New Zealand.

Why contribute to our publication?

Our mission is to entertain and inform readers in the fishing, boating, and hunting communities about recent and upcoming events and other interesting stories.

Who better than you to tell the tale of your fishing or hunting adventures . Whether it’s the one that got away or a personal record – we would love to tell the world .

You don’t need to be a wordsmith and tell a story – we can craft the words if you give us the details.

At a minimum we need:

  • A great photo – don’t worry about the format – we can tidy that and can crop things out if you want. (no adding sorry). The better the quality you can please – we can send you an upload link if its too large to email.
  • Where you were
  • What was happening
  • Who you are and if anyone else is in the photo who they are and confirm they don’t mind the picture being in print.

Tell us your story

Tell us the story in your own words as this is what makes the story.

We will reply to you and we will let you know what issue it will be published in.

Nicola Morris

Editor & Sales

October 2023 saw a changing of the guard with the founders stepping back, selling the paper to kiwi ex-pat Nicola Morris.

Nicola’s experience of the NZ outdoors started very young living a dream childhood which involved tramping, hunting and road trips around the country to set up camp and sample the local fishing , hunting and general outdoors.

Years overseas in China and South America highlighted to Nicola the importance of the outdoors lifestyle – for recreation, for enjoyment, for food on the table and for general well being.

Back home now in Martinborough – living in a log cabin – Nicola enjoys cooking up fresh produce for friends , enjoying all that the Wairarapa has to offer and thinking up new ideas.
